The invention provides a standalone connectivity controlling device that inserts itself as a man-in-the-middle within a vehicle's automotive E/E system, positioned between the vehicle control system and modem (for IP-traffic manipulation) and between the modem and antenna (for RF attenuation). A CPU drives both a network disturbance unit running network emulation software (netem) and a programmable RF attenuator, enabling fine-grained, remotely orchestrated simulation of packet delay, loss, corruption, duplication, reordering, and signal attenuation. The device communicates wirelessly with a remote vehicle test orchestrator, allowing automated test sequences and real-time user control via API and UI, without impacting other vehicles sharing the same radio cell. Real-world RF and packet-trace recordings can be captured and replayed to build a library of scenario-based test profiles.
